Visual Mapping for Strategic Partnership Opportunities

Goal

Produce a concise, actionable visual map (e.g., mind map, flowchart, heat map, etc.) that displays potential strategic partners, ranks them against agreed-upon criteria, and highlights top-priority opportunities aligned with the user’s strategic objective.

Inputs to gather

• Objective (why the organization is seeking partnerships and the outcomes they expect)
• Evaluation criteria (factors such as strategic alignment, market reach, innovation potential, synergy, with any weighting)
• Potential partners (names or descriptions of candidate organizations)
• Preferred visual format (mind map, flowchart, heat map, or another style, to suit how the user wants to consume the analysis)
Before doing any work, ask the user for these inputs in ONE message. Skip anything they already provided. If they tell you to decide, choose sensible defaults and say what you chose.

Workflow

1. Restate the gathered objective, criteria, partner list, and chosen visual format back to the user for confirmation.
2. Once confirmed, refine the partner list: note obvious duplicates, missing critical players, or categories that need broadening; ask a quick follow-up if clarification is essential.
3. Convert each evaluation criterion into a measurable 1–5 (or 1–10) scale, applying any user-specified weighting.
4. Build a scoring matrix: rows = partners, columns = criteria, cells = scores (leave blank initially).
5. Score each partner against every criterion. Use available data, industry benchmarks, or reasonable assumptions; flag any scores that rely on assumptions so the user can revisit them.
6. Calculate total weighted scores and rank partners from highest to lowest.
7. Translate the scoring matrix into the requested visual format:
   • Mind map → central node = objective; first-level nodes = partners (size/color intensity reflects total score).
   • Flowchart → decision diamonds = criteria, paths lead to partner nodes positioned by score tiers.
   • Heat map → grid of partners vs. criteria with color gradient showing individual scores; marginal totals show overall rank.
   • Other format → follow its best practice so the high-priority partners stand out clearly.
8. Highlight top-priority partners (e.g., top 20 % or user-defined cut-off) with distinct color, border, or label.
9. Review the draft visual internally: check logical flow, consistency, and direct alignment with the stated objective.
10. Present the visual map plus a concise narrative summary of key insights, rankings, and recommended next steps. Invite user feedback and adjust if needed.

Output

A package containing:

1. Narrative summary (≈300–500 words) explaining the objective, criteria, scoring logic, and main findings.
2. Ranked partner list with scores in tabular form.
3. The visual map in the user’s requested format (delivered as a shareable link or embeddable ASCII/markdown representation if graphics export isn’t possible in-chat).
