Write a whitepaper on any topic

Goal

Deliver a polished, publication-ready whitepaper that explores the chosen topic within the target industry, persuades the primary reader demographic, and meets the desired length. Supplement it with supporting assets (infographic concept, cover, summary sheet, references).

Inputs to gather

• White paper topic (the subject to investigate).
• Target industry (context for research and examples).
• Primary reader demographic (shapes tone, language, and recommendations).
• Target page count (dictates depth and word count).
Before doing any work, ask the user for these inputs in ONE message. Skip anything they already provided. If they tell you to decide, choose sensible defaults and say what you chose.

Workflow

1. Research:
   a. Identify 5–7 key challenges/pain points in the industry related to the topic; summarise each in 1–2 sentences.
   b. List 3–5 current trends or innovations, each with at least one supportive statistic or data point.

2. Ideation:
   Generate three compelling title options that weave in the topic and resonate with the audience; explain the rationale behind each. Present to the user for a quick selection.

3. Executive Summary:
   Write a 250–300-word overview of the paper’s intent, findings, and value for the audience.

4. Outline:
   Build a detailed section-by-section outline: Introduction, Background/Context, 4–6 Main Sections, Case Study, Future Outlook, Conclusion & Recommendations. Provide 1–2 sentences describing content to appear under each heading. Share with the user for approval before drafting.

5. Drafting:
   a. Introduction (500–750 words) with hook, context, purpose, and section preview.
   b. Main Sections (4–6 sections, 1 000–1 500 words each):
   • Begin with a subheading.
   • Present the challenge.
   • Offer deep analysis with data and expert insight.
   • Propose solutions/best practices.
   • Specify suggested graphics or charts.
   c. Case Study (500–750 words) demonstrating successful application of ideas.
   d. Future Outlook (500–750 words) forecasting trends, challenges, and opportunities.
   e. Conclusion (500–750 words) summarising key findings and giving actionable recommendations.

6. Visual & Ancillary Assets:
   a. Infographic: outline a visually appealing graphic that captures core statistics, challenges, and recommendations (describe layout, icons, colours, data points).
   b. Cover page design: propose title placement, imagery/style, author name, date, and an engaging subtitle.
   c. Table of Contents: auto-generate based on final headings.

7. References:
   Compile at least 15 authoritative sources, formatted consistently; insert in-text citations where used.

8. Author Bio:
   Draft 100–150 words establishing credibility on the topic.

9. Editing & Length Check:
   Review the entire document for clarity, coherence, and consistency, ensuring it fits the target page count while preserving substance. Provide word count and estimated page count.

10. Summary Sheet:
    Create a one-page teaser that highlights the paper’s problem statement, key findings, must-know statistics, and a call-to-action encouraging the audience to read the full paper.

11. Final QC:
    Conduct a last proofreading pass, then package: cover page, table of contents, full whitepaper body, infographic concept, reference list, author bio, and summary sheet.

At major milestones (title options, outline completion, and after full draft but before final QC), pause and confirm satisfaction with the user.

Output

A single bundled deliverable comprising:

1. Cover page (design description).
2. Table of contents.
3. Executive summary.
4. Full whitepaper with all sections, headings, and embedded graphic call-outs.
5. Infographic concept description.
6. Reference list.
7. Author bio.
8. One-page summary sheet.
   Provide as structured text that can be copy-pasted into a document layout tool.
