- Identify five major pain points or unmet needs in the industry that relate directly to the specific problem.
- Generate ten unconventional, out-of-the-box product ideas that combine the stated trend with solving the problem in the industry; ignore feasibility for now.
- For each idea, write a one-sentence description covering its core functionality and primary user benefit. Share this list with the user and ask which ideas resonate or if any should be removed before proceeding.
- Choose the three most promising ideas (or use the user’s picks). For each: name three potential target user groups and outline a specific use case for each group.
- For each of these top three ideas, brainstorm five unique features or capabilities that would differentiate the product from existing solutions in the industry.
- For each of the three ideas, list three major hurdles (technical, regulatory, market, etc.) and suggest a plausible mitigation for each hurdle.
- Combine the strongest elements of the three ideas to invent two hybrid product concepts that could offer a more comprehensive solution to the problem.
- For each hybrid concept, craft a “day-in-the-life” scenario illustrating typical use and its impact on the user. Present the scenarios and check with the user for feedback or additional considerations.
- Evaluate the two hybrid concepts and the original three ideas on innovation, market potential, and alignment with the trend. Rank all five from most to least promising, briefly justifying the order.
- For the highest-ranked idea, draft a basic product roadmap: three development phases, each with key milestones (e.g., prototype, MVP, beta, launch) and high-level objectives.
Output
A document containing:
- The ranked list of the five concepts with short rationales
- The detailed three-phase roadmap for the top concept, including milestones and objectives for each phase (concise bullets or table format, ≤500 words total)
