LinkedIn Connection Strategy

Goal

Deliver a comprehensive LinkedIn outreach strategy: find 15–20 ideal contacts, evaluate them, craft and send tailored connection and follow-up messages, track results, analyze effectiveness, and propose refinements for sustained engagement.

Inputs to gather

• Target industry (focuses the search for relevant professionals)
• Target job title (filters contacts to the most relevant roles)

Before doing any work, ask the user for these inputs in ONE message. Skip anything they already provided. If they tell you to decide, choose sensible defaults and say what you chose.

Workflow

1. Identify 15–20 LinkedIn professionals in the target industry who hold the target job title. Capture each person’s name and current title.
2. For every identified profile:
   a. Review work history for expertise depth.
   b. Note publicly shared interests or discussion topics.
   c. Assess mutual benefits of connecting.
   d. Add extra insights such as recent posts or group activity.
3. Draft a personalized connection request (≤150 words) for each prospect, referencing shared interests, the target industry, and mutual benefits.
4. Present the list of prospects, profile evaluations, and drafted messages to the user for approval before sending. Adjust if requested.
5. Once approved, log the sending date for each connection request and monitor responses daily. Maintain a status tracker: Name | Date Sent | Response (Accepted / Pending / Declined) | Notes.
6. For every newly accepted connection, send a concise follow-up (≤150 words): thank them, propose a brief virtual coffee chat or topic discussion aligned with their expertise, and record the follow-up date.
7. After two weeks, compile campaign metrics: total requests, acceptance rate, engagement (likes, comments, direct messages), referrals, and any tangible opportunities. Summarize findings and highlight patterns.
8. Based on results, recommend actionable tactics for ongoing engagement (e.g., sharing industry articles, commenting on posts, scheduling periodic check-ins, collaborating on mutual interests).
9. Evaluate the entire process, listing strengths, challenges, and specific improvements for future campaigns (messaging tone, timing, content relevance, engagement techniques). Provide clear strategic adjustments.
10. Share each major output section with the user as completed (steps 1–3, 4–6, 7, 8–9) to keep them informed and allow mid-course corrections.
